I help organisations turn ambitious climate, energy and environmental goals into practical strategies, programmes and delivery — and work out what to do when implementation isn’t working.
My professional work has centred around trying to make ambitious climate and environmental goals become real, practical change.
I love figuring out how to develop meaningful strategies and policies and then turning them into delivery — particularly the complex, messy, time-bound pieces where evidence is thin, good intentions haven’t yet found a workable route into delivery or a programme has stalled.
Over 20 years I’ve designed and developed strategy, policy, programmes and projects — from mobilising large-scale retrofit programmes to net zero pathways, establishing multi-disciplinary support services, and contributing to sector guidance and best practice.
Alongside my doctoral research, I can support organisations at moments of development or transition. This could be when ideas are forming, evidence and insights are being sought, programmes translating ambition into practice are being developed, or teams want to connect ambition with how people actually live.
I can work with organisations to:
- Develop the evidence base for strategies, projects or programmes
- Review and strengthen climate or retrofit strategies
- Support development of business cases or project scoping documents, turning ambition into reality
- Design programmes and accelerators at an early stage
- Integrate behavioural insights into policy and practice
- Provide independent advisory or “critical friend” input
My availability is best suited to short-term and clearly scoped projects, or complex and messy but time-bound pieces of work. I’m particularly interested in projects that benefit from careful thinking, cross-sector understanding and practical delivery experience.
Research & Publications
My academic work explores behavioural approaches to improving homes and reducing environmental impact.
